Hallelujah for New Hymnals

At its August meeting the session of Vance Memorial Presbyterian Church agreed to purchase 300 purple Glory to God hymnals for the church sanctuary. Glory to God is the new hymnal from the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and contains 80 % of the music from the blue Presbyterian Hymnal as well as old favorites, contemporary songs and praise choruses, and music from around the world. We intend to unveil these new treasurers on the first Sunday of Advent in December and look forward to a time when we no longer have to juggle various hymnbooks just to follow along with the worship service. If you would like to purchase a Glory to God hymnal in honor or memory of someone, please know that each book will cost $20 and will have a commemorative name plate attached to acknowledge your loved one. Vance has always valued music in worship and this is yet another opportunity for us to sing praise to our God.
